Dhania-nariyel Machchi in MW(Coriander-Coconut Fish in MW)

This fish curry I make quite often. It's totally heart warming and more than that it's very easy-to-make and take only 4 minutes of cooking time(off course in microwave) and about 30 minutes of preperation time.
Coriander(dhaniya) and coconut(natiyel) is a never-go-wrong combo for fish dishes and together they create a heart-warmingly flavourful dish. Any kind of sweet water fish, like Salmon, carp(rohu), Tilapia, catfish will work for this recipe. I tried this with Rohu and tilapia and it tasted equally good with both the fishes. Next time I'll try this recipe with Bengali's favorite fish, Hilsa.

Ingredients :
Fish : 4 pieces
For marination
Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tblsp.
Lemon juice : 1 tsp.
Salt to rub on the fish
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp.
Grind to paste
Fresh coconut(grated) : 1/2 cup
Fresh coriander leaves(chopped) : 1/2 cup
green chilli : 1
Garlic : 2 cloves(if big), 4-5 cloves(if small)
1/4 cup water
Salt to taste

Mustard Oil : 2 tblsp.(for frying)+1 tblsp.(for cooking)

Method :
  • Wash the fish. Rub all the fishes well with all the ingredients listed under marination. Keep aside for at least 30 minutes, more is merrier.
  • Heat 2 tblsp. oil in a frying pan, take out fish pieces from marination and fry them evenly from both sides until lightly brown. Keep aside.
  • Grind all the ingredients together into a coarse paste. Now in a microwave safe bowl, take the grind paste in a microwave safe bowl, add fried fish pieces, smear each piece of fish into the paste. Then drizzle 1 tblsp. mustard oil over it.
  • Microwave for 4 minutes on High Power(100% power). Give standing time of 1 minute. take out and serve immediately with hot rice.
